ModernLogic’s partnership with Clipper Logistics provided an opportunity to implement a highly automated operation for wilko at its 110,000 sq ft e-fulfilment facility in Ollerton.

The automation systems were designed to fully automate the packaging and sortation of nearly 90% of orders for both retail and e-commerce delivery, covering three mezzanine floors across the warehouse operation.

ModernLogic were requested to design a bespoke order picking solution that would volumetrically cartonise orders into the appropriate sized containers for delivery to the automated sorter. Additional challenges in the design were focused on a new integration with GFS CMS with Blue Yonders Dispatcher Warehouse Management System.

The design provided the business a streamlined, high performing operation outputting an average shipment of 6.6k orders for 45K units daily.
