Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable developer to join our rapidly-growing Blueyonder Dispatcher WMS consulting team. The successful candidate will have a strong technical grounding in the product and associated technologies and will be responsible for delivering high quality, value added solutions to our customers. This is a highly technical role and is therefore not suitable for consultants with a purely functional background. 

This position can be fully remote or working from our offices in Oxford if preferable.

Main Responsibilities

  • Interact with both the customer and our functional consultants to understand requirements and develop appropriate software solutions 
  • Produce detailed technical design specifications 
  • Build extensions within Blueyonder Dispatcher WMS using the full application toolkit 
  • Support consultants during testing activities and early life support periods 
  • Create supporting documentation for all activities  

Qualifications, skills and experience required

Essential 

  • Strong technical and working functional background in Blueyonder Dispatcher WMS 
  • Highly experienced in PL/SQL, Shell scripting 
  • Good working knowledge of developing using SDLC tools such as Jira, Confluence and BitBucket 
  • Experience of implementing API based integration solutions 
  • High level of IT competence with aptitude for learning new technologies with a focus on supply chain  
  • Can interpret functional requirements and translate into coherent and supportable technical deliverables  
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to make sense of complex and logical problems quickly    
  • Effective problem solver with ability to examine and re-engineer software

 

Desirable 

  • Previous experience in a consulting organisation, ideally on BY Dispatcher WMS  
  • Technical knowledge of related technologies, eg C & Java

  • Works methodically with attention to detail 
  • Personal flexibility to work hours as required including from time to time working in weekends 
  • Practical approach by using rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
